A new challenger approaches in SA

Written by chimdos

We head into another Monthly Finals after a relatively safe April, with close results but no upsets. Last time, Calabresos - now representing Spacestation Gaming - took it home again, winning the Grand Final 3-2 over F/A MiniPekkas, and just like in the April MQ, the champions qualified with clean upper bracket runs.

Our big surprise for this month is Reis Da PL, who won confidently over Olimpo Squad in the Monthly Finals and almost took down MiniPekkas in a close 3-2 match. RDP now counts on IceCrow, a young and skilled player who turned 16 the day before last month's qualifiers and, together with Brabão and Lele, qualified through the upper bracket.

Team Queso and Marruecos faced in the last round of the upper bracket to qualify. The South American teams disputed for the upper bracket spot, ending in a 2-1 victory for Team Queso.

The Lower Bracket saw Urubus Do Pix, Olimpo Squad, Balinhas, a new Brazilian underdog team, and Marruecos qualify, at the expense of SKCalalas, who lost to Marruecos in the final round.

QUALIFIED TEAMS

1) Spacestation Gaming | Edinho, FireCrow, KaioDog, AlchemicalX (C), Trekking (M)

The recently signed Spacestation looks to the three-peat of the Monthly Finals. With Edinho, FireCrow, and KaioDog as strong as ever, will the competition be able to stop them this time?

2) F/A MiniPekkas | Jubileu, Mohtep, Pekka, Rol (C)

After almost taking down Calabresos last month, MiniPekkas come back stronger, but the meta hasn't changed yet. Can they improve their strategies from April, or will they bring something new?

3) Reis Da PL | Brabão, IceCrow, Lele, Toodyxz, Diego (M)

Reis Da PL nearly defeated the MiniPekkas in their previous encounter, and now, with a more experienced IceCrow, they are better prepared. Can they keep their expectations high, or will they fall short of the pressure?

4) Team Queso | Bryan, Jxcr, Rhz, Joaking (C), Kius (M)

Team Queso still haven't shown us what they're fully capable of yet this year. We are in the middle of the competitive year, and the other teams won't blunder any opportunity to overtake them if they slip up. However, their first match is against Balinhas, an underdog team, so the time is now to shine. Will this roster finally show the potential of SA West?

5) Marruecos | Alonso, Kristian, Loko

Marruecos also couldn't prove themselves yet, having faced Spacestation in the first round twice in a row, but the time is now, as they face an equal opponent, Reis Da PL, in the quarterfinals and. Can the SA West teams show up, or are the Brazilian teams too good now?

6) Olimpo Squad | Exic, Meliodas, Nico, Portox, Paolo (M)

Olimpo Squad is back to strike positively with the other SA West teams, but their match is against Spacestation this time. Can they show what it takes to upset SSG?

7) Urubus Do Pix | PitBullFera, Tufa, Wesley, Sugus (A), Kaiki (M)

Urubus Do Pix is finally here. The Brazilian squad always had high hopes, and we still have faith in them. This time, they look different. They are hungry for victory, but is it too late to contend for an LCQ spot?

8) Balinhas | Bala, Bicho, Fleki

Our biggest underdog this month is Mochilas. It's their first-ever Monthly Final, and we are excited to see what these players are capable of and how far they can reach. Will this team surprise us in their first appearance?
