Filippo parts ways with FUT

Filippo and FUT Esports have announced they have parted ways. It has been an unsuccessful start to 2024 for the high standards of both the player and the org and it would not be controversial to say that these have not been reached thus far.

Despite qualifying for the first Monthly Final, FUT had an early exit as they were reverse swept by Oceanus Gaming in the quarter finals. This qualification too was not the smoothest, as it required the disqualification of one of their Lower Bracket opponents. Bad turned to worse this month, however, as they failed to even qualify, as they lost to Eclipsar Esport in the final round of the Lower Bracket.

Filippo was trusted this year by FUT Esports as somewhat of a rookie but is by no means a bad player. However, in his time as a professional player, he has found it difficult to hold down a roster for a long time, playing for OneTrickPonies on 4 different stints as well as playing with VN Esporting, HMBLE (twice) and F/A MrDoSa before joining the Turkish organisation. His talent is clear to see, but the question comes over consistency.

For both parties, there doesn't seem to be many replacements in sight, though that is what we said when Mebius left VN, only to be proven wrong almost instantly. But VN have just added blaksxy, and Mric joined Synchronic Gaming, eliminating the two most viable F/A options. If FUT are to sign someone, it will have to be someone already in a team, or someone very unexpected. Likewise for Filippo, he will probably replace someone in a roster, or join as a 4th, which he may not want to do.

Since the writing of the article, Buzko announced on X that he would be leaving VN Esporting. Perhaps this is an opportunity for Filippo to join forces with the roster, but what seems more likely is that the roster disbands because of one of them joining FUT. Rama announced he had signed a contract, which could indicate he is joining FUT, but potentially has signed for a new org with his current team, due to the financial issues with VN.

Either way, both player and org seem to be happy with this decision. Hopefully, they can both reach a situation where they reach successful positions this year.
